January is one of the best months for striped marlin fishing in Cabo San Lucas. The cooler water temperatures bring massive schools of baitfish close to shore, drawing in hungry predators. May is the gateway to Cabo's legendary summer fishing season. Blue marlin start making their first appearances. Dorado numbers increase significantly, and roosterfish are at peak abundance along the beaches. One of the best months for variety.

June kicks off the premier big game season in Cabo San Lucas. Blue marlin action intensifies with fish in the 300–600 lb range. August offers some of the most explosive fishing action of the year. Blue marlin are at their peak — fish over 500 lbs are caught every week. Dorado remain incredibly abundant with schooling fish near floating debris. Sailfish begin to show up in good numbers. Brief afternoon tropical showers cool things down but rarely affect fishing. September is arguably the single best month for marlin fishing in Cabo San Lucas. Blue and black marlin are at peak abundance, and this is when the biggest fish of the year are caught. The Bisbee's Black and Blue tournament takes place in October, but September is when anglers practice and the fish are stacked up. Dorado and wahoo round out what is truly the best month to be on the water.
